Crafting furry and fun illustrations for dog-loving hops enthusiasts
Sidewalk Dog, the awesome company that's all about connecting you and your furry friend with the best dog-friendly businesses, came to me to level up their dog-friendly passports. They wanted me to turn their one-page “passport” into a full-blown dog-friendly passport that's jam-packed with goodies like maps, funky illustrations, a comprehensive directory, and exclusive coupons and deals to help dog parents spend more time with their pups, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting various fantastic doggy charities.
Challenge:
I was tasked with developing a fresh look for Sidewalk’s dog-themed beer passport. The new design needed to be easily replicated and customized for each city Sidewalk expanded to. This scalability ensures that as Sidewalk expands to new cities, the passport can effortlessly accommodate the needs of an expanding company. My design approach allowed me to quickly adjust the passport layout and content for different cities, resulting in a tailored experience for users in each city.
I implemented a modular design system reminiscent of travel passports that enabled me to seamlessly integrate unique branding elements and quickly swap out brewery information specific to each location. Each cover gets a unique illustration that pays homage to the city it takes place in, featuring the city’s skyline and a playful pooch interacting within the city in a fun beer-themed way. This not only creates a visually appealing design but also sparks excitement and a sense of belonging for users as they explore each city’s beer scene through the passport.
